The New York Giants recently announced that wide receiver Victor Cruz would be returning to the team after sustaining a knee injury in the 2014 NFL season. After nearly 300 days in rehabilitation, he resumed team practice in late July. On August 12, Cruz participated in drills against the Cincinnati Bengals during the Giants’ preseason training camp, joining the offensive lineup and running a few snaps each period. Cruz later said that he looks forward to playing in a regular season game, which he hopes to accomplish by continuing his conditioning work through the preseason.

The Giants signed the University of Massachusetts graduate to their roster in 2010. Cruz has since achieved success in his five seasons with the team, accumulating more than 1,500 total receiving yards in the 2011 season and tying with 12 others for the longest receiving touchdown catch of 99 yards. Overall, he has completed 264 receptions, placing him in the number-12 spot on the team’s career ranking.
